FOUNDATION PATHWAY

PART TIME CONTEMPORARY DANCE & PERFORMING ARTS (1 YEAR)

Optional: CUA40113 Certificate IV in Dance

Origins Foundation Program is a unique part time pathway designed for students wanting to increase their knowledge of dance technique in a safe and mature environment. Led by Transit Dance faculty member Jayden Hicks, this pathway is aimed at students aged 17+ and is a perfect preparation for those wishing to develop a strong understanding of dance techniques before entering into Transit's full time Diploma courses.

Participants will train in the fundamental techniques Contemporary Dance, Performing Arts and Classical Ballet and also have the option to complete qualifications in Certificate IV in Dance.

Participants study three days a week, Tuesday to Thursday, 4:30 - 7:30pm (Optional: Cert. III & Cert. IV subjects from 3:30pm - 4:30pm).

WHO IS THIS PATHWAY SUITABLE FOR?

Year 12 graduates wanting to pursue a career in Contemporary Dance or the Performing Arts who require more attention to one or more genres to develop their strength, skill and ability to ensure the best results moving into a Diploma course or higher.

High School Students in Yr 9 - 12, either at school or studying via distance education who are wanting to pursue a career in Contemporary Dance or the Performing Arts.

Tertiary level or higher adults wanting to discover or reignite their training with a strong focus on technique and dance artistry.

All class levels are decided and divided on age and technical ability of the student.
