Mātūrus is an evening of contemporary dance with two original works by choreographers Stephanie Lake and Israel Aloni. The evening will be performed by the cast of 18 emerging artists in Tr.IPP (Transit International Professional Pathway).
Lake’s work is utilising the vivid energy of young bodies as they take over the theatrical space in a heaving, joyous and claustrophobic cram of bodies. They serve as a metaphor for both the smallest, microscopic components of life as well as the biggest such as earthquake and flood.
Aloni’s work looks at liberation from social norms and restrictions, in the process of individuals fully growing each into their own unique form and character. A dynamic journey through time and space where the challenges are unforeseen and the individual is asked to stand their ground or blend into the crowd.
The evening is approximately 90 min (including 20 min interval).
