Important announcement regarding COVID-19
Hello World, we would like to share this important announcement regarding COVID-19 and Transit Dance from our Artistic Director Paul Malek.
Good Evening Transit Dance Community and friends. In light of recent events and the escalation of the COVID-19 virus, I wanted to touch base with you publicly to the measures we at Transit have been putting into place over the last 7 days.
Firstly, we want to reassure our community that we are not encouraging any panic or hysteria, we are simply wanting to promote a safe and healthy approach to our daily operations.
During last week, we instilled the following new procedures to ensure hygiene to be of the highest priorities in our daily operations.
- All students and staff are encouraged to wash their hands with soap before and after attending their classes. Before they eat food and after they use the bathroom facilities.
- We are also increasing the disinfection of equipment such as Ballet Barres, Props or Gym equipment and encouraging students and staff to wash their hands with soap before and after use of such equipment.
- We are increasing the disinfection of all door handles at the start, middle, and end of the day.
- If students and staff are feeling unwell we are asking them not to attend classes for that day, and to stay at home until they make a full recovery.
- We encourage all students and staff with any flu type symptoms not to attend Transit Dance that day, and to seek professional advice from a GP or local doctor to ensure they are cleared to return to work or school.
- Hand Hygiene is paramount and will be greatly encouraged and practised to ensure a healthy environment for learning and individual growth here at Transit.
We understand that the latest announcements by the government are unprecedented events, and we are taking these announcements with great importance to the operations of our organisation. We are currently in discussion on how this may impact our day to day life, and assure you that we are taking the much needed precautions to ensure the health and safety of all in our organisation and community.
As more information is revealed over the next few days we will have a clearer idea of our approach to the next month of our operations.
We all love our beautiful world of dance and education and as of tomorrow morning, we will be continuing our operations as per normal with the appropriate measures in place.
We are all keeping close attention to all updates, and we are communicating with the department of education, fellow institutions and dance companies regarding our approach moving forward.
It is easy to become carried away with the news and media, and that is why we are preparing for all options moving forward so we are on the front foot and covering all our options at this time.
We will endeavour to communicate transparently with you all and in the meantime, thank you for your patience and want everyone to continue sharing their love of dance at Transit Dance.
Much love and respect to all.
Paul Malek, Artistic Director
