International Women's Day 2019

A balanced world is a better world. How can you help forge a more gender-balanced world? Celebrate women's achievement. Raise awareness against bias. Take action for equality.

This year Transit Dance is proud to be celebrating International Women’s Day through a series of videos celebrating #balanceforbetter.

This first video is a collaboration between Transit Dance and NAB, featuring dance industry legends Daniel Jaber, Bradley Chatfield, Yvette Lee, Kim Adam and Jayden Hicks. Choreographed by our very own Paul Malek and shot at our brand new Brunswick facilities, this film does a great job of showing the imbalance that needs to be fixed in the workplace.

The next series of videos features familiar faces from the Transit Dance community answering the questions, What advice would you give your younger self & What can the world do to help empower more women.

International Women's Day (March 8) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity.

International Women's Day (IWD) has occurred for well over a century, with the first IWD gathering in 1911 supported by over a million people in Austria, Denmark, Germany and Switzerland. Prior to this the Socialist Party of America, United Kingdom's Suffragists and Suffragettes, and further groups campaigned for women's equality.

Today, IWD belongs to all groups collectively everywhere.

IWD is not country, group or organization specific.

Make IWD your day - everyday.
