joins Transit
We are thrilled to welcome multi-award-winning choreographer Andrew Hallsworth to Transit Dance as the Head of Musical Theatre, where he will lead and shape the artistic vision of our Pre-Professional Musical Theatre course.
With over three decades of industry experience, Andrew has left an indelible mark on both Australian and international theatre. His accolades include three Helpmann Awards, two Sydney Theatre Critics Awards, and two Green Room Awards for ‘Best Choreography in a Musical.’ His impressive body of work spans productions such as the world premiere of Muriel’s Wedding The Musical and the Broadway and Australian seasons of Priscilla Queen of the Desert.

Transit Dance is home to a cutting-edge 4,000sqm training facility, purposefully designed to elevate technical excellence, creative development, and industry engagement. Located in Brunswick’s education and design district, our space features eight fully equipped studios with premium sprung flooring, a 180-seat Black Box Theatre, a dedicated strength & conditioning gym, a Pilates studio, and professional photography and content facilities. With modern classrooms, student support areas, and an expansive exhibition space, our facility fosters both artistic growth and industry collaboration.
