Balanced Training & Education Structure.

The High School Academy is structured to ensure students excel in both their academic studies and elite dance training. Each week is divided into dedicated academic study time and intensive dance training, allowing students to pursue their artistic goals without sacrificing their education.

  • Academic Studies – Students complete their secondary education through Virtual School Victoria (VSV), with three hours of structured study time per day, supervised by an on-site academic coordinator. This ensures they stay on track with their studies while benefiting from a supportive learning environment.

  • Elite Dance Training – Students train five days per week in a professional dance environment, developing the technical and performance skills necessary to transition into full-time pre-professional programs or professional work.

This dual focus provides students with exceptional industry training while maintaining the flexibility to complete their high school education.

Performance & Industry Integration

At Transit Dance, performance is at the core of training, ensuring students develop stage experience, artistic versatility, and industry awareness. The High School Academy bridges the gap between youth training and professional full-time programs, providing students with real-world performance opportunities that prepare them for higher-level training or direct entry into the industry.

Throughout their time in the program, students participate in four fully staged productions per year, gaining invaluable stage time under the guidance of renowned choreographers, directors, and artistic mentors. These productions simulate professional performance environments, allowing students to build confidence, refine their artistry, and understand the discipline required in the professional world.

Students also benefit from guest masterclasses, industry networking, and professional development workshops, ensuring they graduate with both the technical expertise and career insight to navigate the performing arts industry successfully. Through this performance-based approach, students gain an understanding of industry expectations and are prepared for the next step in their artistic journey.
