Andrew Hallsworth is a multi-award-winning choreographer and director, celebrated for his extensive contributions to musical theatre, dance, and television. As Head of Musical Theatre & Dance at Transit Dance, he brings decades of industry experience, ensuring students receive world-class training and career-defining mentorship.

A three-time Helpmann Award winner, with two Sydney Theatre Critics Awards and two Green Room Awards for Best Choreography in a Musical, Andrew is one of Australia’s most sought-after choreographers. His internationally acclaimed work on Priscilla Queen of the Desert – The Musical has been staged on Broadway, the West End, and in major productions worldwide. He also choreographed the original Australian production of Muriel’s Wedding the Musical, which premiered to critical acclaim before its highly anticipated West End debut.

His original musical theatre productions include Round the Twist, Dream Lover, Shane Warne: The Musical, Ladies in Black, An Officer and a Gentleman, and Eurobeat – Almost Eurovision (West End). His commercial theatre credits span major productions such as Anything Goes, Fun Home, Kiss of the Spider Woman, Shakespeare in Love, Twelfth Night, Hamlet, Next to Normal, The Drowsy Chaperone, The Boy From Oz, Assassins, Little Shop of Horrors, Sweet Charity, Gypsy, La Cage Aux Folles, and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum.

Beyond theatre, Andrew’s work extends to television, with credits on So You Think You Can Dance, We Can Be Heroes, The Librarians, Dead Gorgeous, Mr & Mrs Murders, and Strange Bedfellows.

A respected educator, Andrew has spent over a decade leading musical theatre training and has taught at major industry events, including the Australian Dance Festival, Australian Musical Theatre Festival, Victorian Dance Festival, and South Australian Dance Festival.
